Even before winter can finish, I am dreaming of beaches and the time I can shop for spring shoes. The styles this year did not disappoint. There are shoes that wrap and tie, shoes with denim and shoes with block heels, all looking fabulous with the spring fashions.
The Denim trend is fun this season with so many great choices. Chloe released a couple of my favorite denim shoes. I love the Frayed Denim Espadrille Sandal shown here. They are very versatile and can be worn with just about anything from jeans and off the shoulder peasant blouses to shorts and dresses. This shoe comes in a couple different styles.
Stella McCartney came out with a Binx Star Slip-on Sneaker that is great fun and will go with walking shorts and jeans to boho cotton skirts. It follows McCarney’s trend at Paris Fashion Week, where she released her signature brand of sportswear-inspired clothes, remixed tailoring.
Tip (from a past mistake I made): This shoe only comes in whole sizes. When making the choice of going up or down, remember that, generally speaking, in winter feet tend to shrink and in the summer they tend to expand and cloth shoes do not expand like leather shoes.
TREND: Fabulous Shoes That Wrap And Tie
This season lace-up shoes are one of the most fashion forward footwear. They look good with all of the trends.
TREND: Block Heels
Some say that block heels are the most important investment you can make this year if you want to stay on top of the fashion charts. They are comfortable, chic, fun and fabulous.
Designer Watch: Gianvito Rossi
I cannot get enough of Gianvito Rossi’s shoe designs. He started his career working alongside his father, Italian shoe designer Sergio Rossi. Gianvito decided to strike out on his own in 2006. Since then, he has made a name for himself with his glamorous, sensual shoes with great detailing. While he still collaborates with Joseph Altuzarra , producing stiletto ankle boots and pointed-toe pumps, Rossi now focuses more on a shoes’ form and functionality. On this season’s shoes he commented, “I like the evocative side of the sandal combined with the trendy shape.”
